You know what youtube has thoroughly ruined for me?

Transcripts.  As in, nobody points to them anymore.  And nobody makes note of a quote they want to quote.  They just point to the video, which I, generally speaking, can’t watch on my computer.  Because a computer that’s technically up to it is no match for two little girls who start screaming every time I try to look at something like that.  So when so and so said such and such on some show or another, well, I’ll never know exactly what it was.  And I might not watch them even if I could hear the damned things, because I hate watching that sort of thing.  I don’t like watching anything on the computer.  I don’t listen to those podcast thingys, either.  I just prefer to read.

Now you can all tell me what an anachronistic freak I am.  Go ahead, I can take it.

1. You didn’t mention that when you strip someone’s oratory down to plain text, you can SEE how stupid they sound.

3. Well I hate YouTube because they like to censor anything not-PC as “hate speech”, give me a freaking break, and because the lips never synch up with the sound. At least if I’m reading a transcript (or watching a different video service), I can make my lips move and my words come out at the same time.

4. I don’t even have speakers on my computer, so the YOuTube stuff is worthless to me - unless it is just visuals.
