Yay for Amazon and UPS!

Now that’s a title you don’t see very often, lol.

Sunday night (the 17th) I decided to order something for my folks for Christmas.  It was the last day for Super Saver Shipping at Amazon, so I went for that--hey, free shipping!--and when I ordered it projected delivery for Friday the 22nd.  They sent the thing UPS 3rd Day Select on Monday the 18th, and it was delivered yesterday, three days early!  Wow!  Having ordered at the very last minute, I wouldn’t have been shocked if it hadn’t made it until after Christmas.  Truly amazing service.

Yay!

1. I’m shocked. Usually Amazon.com deliberately waits 3-5 business days before shipping something using Super Saver Shipping (basically a week’s delay) in order to get you to pay for shipping (or buy Amazon Prime) and not use their “free” shipping.

   Which is why I stopped using Amazon.com this summer, wondering why it was taking so long for my items to ship when they said they had them in stock. (Their regular shipping prices gouge you).

   I guess for the holiday’s they’ve stopped being such weasels.

2. Good for you, Happy holidays. My Amazon.com order did not arrive after 2+ weeks. The customer service interaction was stressful. I ended closing my account. I would rather pay more and buy in person than from Amazon.
