Wish Me Luck

It appears that the new van is in excellent health, but needs a radiator, thermostat, flushing of the heat system, oil change, maybe a tuneup, and that’s about it for the time being.  It will need an alternator, but there is one with my name on it when another van of the same vintage gets scrapped in March, so we’re trying to hold out.

That’s all relatively minor, so I am hoping I can line it up today, have it done by sometime Friday, and not be hit with them finding something else that Must Be Fixed.

What seems to have happened is the prior owner sprung a radiator leak, loaded it with sealer crap, plugged it up, and made it so the coolant doesn’t circulate properly.  It can’t be driven far without risking frying the motor, which other than the sound of the dying alternator purrs pleasantly.

   I can’t bring my vehicle to the mechanic without them finding something extra. I usually do all my own repairs now.
