Whiteboard

I have a modest whiteboard to put up.  Originally I bought it for my cube at Stream, as the only way to have one was to supply your own.  Then it went to the XTreme office, where it ended up superfluous in a room with three 4x8 foot whiteboards.  It’s probably 2x3 feet or so.

After it fell on me again today, I dropped everything to do that.

Alas, the house is 150 years old.  Even anchors for the screws don’t work, because the drywall is too thin and powdery, while the slats behind it push back rather than taking the drill bit.

Plan B was to hang it from the suspended ceiling gridwork, but that’s going to require more effort than I was ready to invoke just then.

I love having a whiteboard to make lists.  I ought to be able to put them in Outlook, or a text file, but that’s less in my face.  Not that I can’t ignore whiteboard lists too, but where it would be positioned, I would have to see it before each time I sat at the desk, bold and in my face.

I think plan C may involve wire coathangers…

  1. It may be horse hair plaster not dry wall.  More then likely.  The best thing in those cases are a bit longer wood screw so you catch the slats behind.
