When Sadie Gets Loose With a Pen…

She explores the paper-like properties of skin.

This took place in a matter of minutes, during which they were not in the same room with me and being very quiet.  Deb was at the doctor.  I took pictures so she could see.

You can see by Val’s face what kind of reaction Sadie got from me when I discovered this.  Sadie looked even sadder.  The facecloth and a couple spots in the tub got stained blue.  Sadie had residual marks for days, but I got them so clean that Deb didn’t have a clear idea just how bad it was before seeing the pictures.

Sadie loves drawing in pen, even more than crayon, but obviously it requires supervision.  She has her own pen, from when she accompanied me to the insurance agency, but it lives on top of the refrigerator now.

  1. Just wait a couple years and you’ll get the knife with the ribbon wrapped around it bearing the text “Death before dishwashing”.

  2. Good thing it wasn’t a Sharpie! :-D

FYI: Lipstick is also a dandy art tool & white walls and silk upholstered furniture make a great canvas!  I discovered this myself as a young child one early morning in my Grandparents home.
