You want to but can’t use MS Paint unaided, because at 3 you don’t quite “get” clicking and holding the mouse button to draw. Apart from having not fully grasped where the mouse cursor is on the screen. So he says “hey, I might be able to modify the old Kidpaint program I wrote, so you can draw just by moving the mouse.”
He locates a copy of the code, makes a minor change, discovers forgotten features, discovers an amusing bug associated with global variables, and in a jiffy has floppies to install on your computer. Elapsed time for all of this perhaps a half hour or so.
Being a twerp, you then demand he help you paint, despite being excited to be able to do it yourself. Doh.
Haha, I remember that. And then I tried to remake it when I was learning VB. Dan’s Groovy Drawing Program FTW! I probably still have that code around here somewhere…
