Update on My Mother

My grandmother tells me they operated on my mother and did a catheterization this morning.  No other details, beside that being a logical thing to follow from hopping on an ambulance with difficulty breathing.  That and my grandmother says that my mother was heard to tell someone a few years ago that she had been told she was a good candidate for a heart attack.

My aunt is going to check on things tonight.  My older brother doesn’t know yet because he’s at work, and last night my grandmother figured he’d already be in bed at the point she’d have called him.  My sister is going to my grandmother’s in the morning to help her with the kids, so we’ll leave them there despite having considered taking them with us instead.  I’m doing the installation of the big client’s new case management software at 1:00 tomorrow, which gives us four hours for the ultrasound to run late, see if we can pop in on my mother while we’re in the same hospital, then either get the kids and get them and Deb home, leave the kids and have Deb hang at the office while I work, or get the kids and bring the whole gang to the office while I work.

It’s funny for the details to be so terse, considering this is my grandmother, but maybe they didn’t tell her very much so she has little to relay.

  4. It’s particulary hair-raising when it’s your MOM and you can’t just pick up your aggies and go see what’s happening for yourself.  You, Deb, the kids and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
