Outage

You may have noticed that we were down for a while today.  Hooray, we’re back!

The server we’re hosted on had a hard drive failure, so everything on it had to be restored from the most recent backup onto a replacement drive.  Not the kind of day you want to encounter when you’re on the rebuilding end.

Everything through two posts ago was there when the dust cleared.  I knew I’d done the birthday post this morning, so I just retrofitted a replacement.  I can’t remember whether we posted anything else.  I started a post and saved it closed because I wasn’t able to complete it.  That’s gone.  I started another post in my offline editor, which isn’t affected.  Ah, I seem to remember I made a brief post joking about a BrainPal, which is a reference to Old Man’s War.  Other than that… gone.

If you sent e-mail to blogblivion.com or accidentalverbosity.com addresses during the outage?  Gone.  When it came back, I got a couple older e-mails again, and new spam from almost an hour ago.  Nothing else.  Resend it if you have it.
