Online Ordering Can Be Fun
I attempted to order business cards from a prominent online printing place that’s been in the business since the nineties. They have a nifty new card designer I used for laying things out, and a decent price.
Trouble is, you find out that the price is for 500, not the standard 1000, and there is absolutely no way to select another quantity. Well, there is, by telling it quantity 2 for the 500, which doubles the price, where normally business cards change minimally in cost going from a run of 500 to a run of 1000.
Suddenly, that makes them more costly than the place that is okay to relatively high in base price and quite overpriced in shipping. And that happens to take PayPal. And is somewhere I might just have a bit of extra clout should I need it.
What’s really annoying is doing the layout of the card, having it get eaten without creating an order, having to do it again, then figuring out the quantity issue after all that.
Oh well. Back to it…
Update:
It took me until after Hell’s Kitchen, but I got them ordered so in 1 - 2 weeks I’ll have an initial supply. The place I was going to fall back on turned out only to offer one color ink on raised print cards, and having come up with a pleasing layout in maroon and black, I wanted to keep it. I ended up locating the very best online card designer utility imaginable, which works great if you don’t abandon it partway through to cook supper, eat and give baths. Yay! While I wait for them, besides cleaning out the office and other old business, I’ll get the domain hosted, create a site and e-mail accounts, and figure out some of the other details.
I don’t know where you got your cards, but I got great cards from vistaprints.com for a great price.
