On the Agenda Next

Looking at the exersaucer to see if I can fix it.  The older kids (*cough*Valerie*cough*) have broken it to the point of being unusable without repair.  Considering the look of pure joy when he’s in it, that’s especially sad.

Breaking the bar with all the flippy toys was bad enough.  The thing isn’t usable at all if the seat can’t stay attached.

Update:

Totally reorganizing and shelving more conveniently together all the videos belonging to or appropriate for the kids is not the same as working on the saucer, but it’ll sure be handy…

Guess I’ll check on that domain appraisal again.  From what I gather, they are reliable about the two day turnaround.  We are into a fourth day.  I also gather that the appraisals can be a bit generous, but I was looking at a discussion about a specific domain name appraised at $17,000 (top of range and 6.5k low end) that isn’t as desirable as the one I have.  The guy in question was buying domains and immediately buying appraisals for them, and was expecting it to be a normal few hundred dollar one.  Fingers are crossed, and I am wondering if high potential has anything to do with the delay.  More likely it just fell through the cracks and I will have to contact support to ask what gives.

Okay, let’s see about the saucer now…

Update again:

The domain appraisal came back with a top number of $2680 and a low end of $960, which strikes me as in the right range.  I’d have been excited but skeptical if they’d given me a wildly high number.  It’s not out of the question that I could get more than the minimum, depending how it is sold.  Obviously a seller would want to make the availability known to people using the same name without having the matching domain at all or in .com form.

Anyway, I just finished fixed the saucer.  Yay!  It involved overlaying the worn out elastic supports, suffering from age exacerbated by Valerie, with heavy yarn, equivalent to twine, that will support the seat.  It won’t be as bouncy, but it won’t sag and hit bottom.  On the way to do that, I washed some dishes, filled and ran the dishwasher, and probably some other things.  Besides yelling at the twerps a lot because they are so starved for toys and activities that anything we do is far more exciting.

What a useful day.

At that price range, I have no compelling reason to keep the domain, except possibly to build page rank or make it a site for software as originally planned.
