Now That’s Cool. Geek Cool.
Last night I was at Wal-Mart. It was getting late; much later than we’d anticipated. We talked and decided to get pizza, which we hadn’t gotten in at least two months. It’s a periodic treat we try to avoid all the time, and had been displaced recently by Chinese, which can be done cheaper.
Anyway, I’m in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, without the number for Papa Ginos in Middleboro. I was able to go to their web site on my Blackberry, confirm that they still have the same AAA card special, look up the store location, and the Blackberry makes phone numbers into clickable links. The wheel goes from link to link and when the number is highlighted, pressing enter invokes an offer to dial that number.
Now that is convenience. Someone was thinking when they programmed in that feature. Perhaps it’s obvious. Perhaps it’s old hat. But I like it.
