No Birthdays Until Thursday
But in the meantime, you could check out this fun comment thread on wingnuts and moonbats, kicked off by me, and including the likes of McGehee and Kevin Drum.
One of these days I might actually get around to posting about TV, about the malware crud from the other day (complete with pictures and registry entries and a trip to Belgium), and about food. Today, though, I really really need to restock the house with food. And other stuff, like the ibuprofen and acetaminophen we managed to run out of in concert, along with the baby version of the latter. We managed to run out of frozen veggies a couple days ago. We’re nursing the coffee creamer. I’ve been out of pink packets for days. Cheese won’t last the day. Ketchup and relish are all but gone. Bisquick is gone apart from maybe half a cup. Spaghetti sauce is gone. That’s just wrong. Not that we couldn’t eat for another week or two, maybe more, on what’s in the house in an emergency. We’d just have to be increasingly creative and unbalanced, especially if there could be not so much as a milk and bread run. We ran out of eggs yesterday and will run out of cheese today. Amazingly, diapers are one of the things we don’t need.
Eggs are a funny thing. We buy them 18 at a time, preferably at BJ’s, where they are larger, better quality, and at least as cheap as Hannaford. They can sit in the fridge for weeks, then be gone in a few days. They seem so incidental, but there are things you just can’t do without them.
Anyway, off I go.
