Mmmm… Turkey

My mother popped in to drop off a turkey first thing this morning.  Not as first thing as she had to get up to process Share boxes, which was 5:00, covering for the person who would normally do it.  I’d forgotten that it would be the 17th, and that would mean today, and that would mean first thing in the morning.  So that’s in the bottom of the fridge, defrosting over the next four days, which means five is the least we can do, with our fridge being so enthusiastic.  She was thrilled to get a cup of coffee.

Along with that she brought a bunch of other stuff, including butternut, carrots, onions, potatoes, tuna, cranberry sauce, cereal, etc., from Share or otherwise.

The kids, of course, loved the whole visit from grandma thing, and Henry was his usually joyful self, grinning and cooing at her.

I’m still tempted to buy another turkey on account of the Thanksgiving sales, but maybe I’ll skip it, or buy a ham or other meat-like item for the low price.  Gotta get sweet potatoes.  One of the stores has them at 49 cents.  Which leads to another post…
