Milk

I was talking with my mother last night about the sheer volume of milk consumed here.  We’re not buying it six gallons at a time like my sister does (or was doing last I knew) for her husband and two sons, but it’s not out of line for us to buy two at a time.  The girls each drink three good-sized glasses of milk most days, with four being at least as common as two.  I drink it sometimes, subject in part to whether we will run low too soon if I do.  We’ve been eating cereal.  It gets used in cooking.  We’re doing good if a gallon lasts three days from opening.

Obviously you’re going to use more milk with kids, but the volume surprised me.
