Marano Sisters

We’re American Idol addicts, crappy season this year or not.  Naturally this means we saw bits of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, since Idol was used as the lead for introducing that show.

She’s gone now, but one of the kids on there, named Laura, made me remark that she could be April’s little sister.  That is, April Nardini, a character on Gilmore Girls.  It was just remarkable.  I wondered where they found the kids to be on the game show, but I never looked into it.

Even though we didn’t end up following that show, I never stopped wondering and being intrigued by mini-April, and all the more so when she disappeared from the show.

Well, whaddaya know!

April was played by Vanessa Marano.  Older sister in real life of Laura Marano.  That Laura, who also has been on other shows, including an episode of Joan of Arcadia, and will be on the new Kelsey Grammer show, Back to You, this fall.

Can I spot ‘em or what?  The trouble was, it was distracting, seeing her on the game show and having that familiarity above and beyond Jane Random ten year old.
