Lemon Squares and Other Good Chow
I made this lemon square recipe concurrent with making supper tonight. They came out great, and are easy to make. Years ago I used to make lemon squares from my stepmother’s recipe, so I found myself wondering if this differed. Apart from scale, as this made only an 8x10 pan, and at that came out a little thinner than most I’ve seen.
I came across the recipe while looking for something to bake so we could warm the place up, preferably without a lot of fuss. Then in the end I also made cornbread to go with supper.
Supper was so pretty I took a picture, still on the camera, of it laid out on Val’s tray. I made rice (out of potatoes), French style green beans, eye of the round steak, and arguably the best gravy I have ever made. Plus the cornbread. Sooooo good.
