Jordan Carnival

After I posted about Robert Jordan’s death, I was thinking that Dragonmount was to the Robert Jordan newsgroup was the Blog Carnival site was to blog carnivals as we knew them.  It took years, but the newsgroup is effectively dead, even though Theresa Nielson Hayden fulfilled a promise of many years ago by posting about the death there, while at the same time demeaning the newsgroup concept as obsolete.  At least the newsgroup delivered the news in a timely fashion without struggling to stay up, which was also a factor on 9/11.  A lot of my non-TV news and rumor, including pointers to more obscure news sites that were still up, came from the Jordan newsgroup.  But I digress.
