Ivory Liquid Dish Soap Crisis

We interrupt this coffee guzzling interlude (on my part, anyway; Deb can’t eat anything after midnight) to remember what I’d meant to post while my computer was disconnected for several hours while I changed around the office and made there not be a spare computer desk looking like an oversized island in the middle of the kitchen.  The router fell off its perch and needed to be dealt with anyway, and ideally I would get the new computer and the desk out of the kitchen before we went to the hospital, so I dove in.

With a break to run to the store for a chicken to roast, as planned for the nice cool day.  Jedi mom was not disappointed.  Ditto for the faux stroganoff Saturday.

Last week I went on a mission to stock the house with groceries and sundries.  We were getting low on Ivory dish soap, so that was on the list.  I don’t recall buying it there, but I checked BJ’s.  They didn’t carry it, as far as I could see.

Wal-Mart was out.

Deb checked Hannaford and they appeared no longer to have a shelf space for it.

While I was out, I checked Brooks, which will soon be Rite-Aid, and they had a completely empty shelf space, just like Wal-Mart.

Weird.

We still have probably a couple days or so left, but it’s a mounting crisis.  What’s up with the lack of the stuff?  Jokes about it being made in China with lead added so it wouldn’t ping (Ivory No-Knock) aside, there must have been some manufacturing or dsitribution problem up the line.

  1. If it were Ivory bar soap, my answer would be that it all sank.

Have you got Family Dollar in your neck of the woods? They carry Ivory liquid in different packaging and have their own warehousing and distribution.
