In Which Valerie Has a Birthday

Valerie is a year old today!  How time flies.  Here are some pictures from her first couple months, starting with the ones in the announcement post, followed by some from the past several weeks.  Oh right, I meant to use “then and now” in the title or intro to this posts, since that describes and inspired the set of pictures…

That last one is courtesy of Sharon, who takes some amazing pictures.

We have a cake for tonight, in addition to the cake she had Sunday.  Come to think of it, there may be pictures of that, still on the old camera.  I should remember to download those.  Speaking of which, we had the first gotchas with the new camera.  First, I couldn’t install the software on my computer.  Then the batteries that came with it died after the first few dozen pictures.  We can use Deb’s computer for the downloads, and we have tons of batteries on hand, so they aren’t big problems.  But I digress, and this has reminded me of two other posts I need to write…

Happy birthday, Vertical Girl!  Always remember: Gravity exists.

    And a PS to Dad: the E2 Lithium batteries by Energizer are somewhat expensive, but worth EVERY PENNY for the digital camera.  My camera eats regular batteries as fast as yours appears to, but I’ve only had to replace the E2’s once in several months, after months of use and then taking 100-some pictures at the Rose Parade… If you can catch a sale or a coupon, even better.
