I Just Laughed

I saw that Al Gore got a Nobel Prize and laughed my ass off.  Now I really can’t wait for, say, twenty years from now when it’s generally accepted that the whole thing was nonsense.  I hope it’ll be sooner, or certainly not much longer.  We’ve already far surpassed the fifteen minutes that global cooling got in the seventies.

Sadly, global warming is a classic power grab.  It doesn’t have quite the audacity of the obey or you will go to hell, or be truly and completely dead and here let me fan your natural human fear of that, or be reborn in horrid circumstances, after you die source of power mongering or societal free riding, since eventually it will be shown to be wrong.  However, with enough bullying and obfuscation, that could be drawn out for decades at a minimum.  By that time the power grab can have happened quite thoroughly, the initial grabbers can have enjoyed their stay at the top, and the worst aspects can have been institutionalized.

So yeah, thanks Al.  You and I, we both know an important secret: People are gullible.

Perhaps I shouldn’t be laughing after all…

  1. I laughed when the newsman pointed out that the most recent American peace prize winner is Jimmy Carter.  That validated the whole thing.
