How Verbal Is Valerie?

A little while ago, with both of us as witnesses, completely in context, she said “let go of me!” Obviously she’s 13 months old and it wasn’t perfectly enunciated, or pronounciated in the world of Diana Ross, but it was better than half of what Sadie says.  The same Sadie who has helpfully taught Valerie the word “mine,” and who herself has lately learned the word “why.”

Now if this morning’s lecture to Valerie, explaining that she could use the words “food” or “hungry” if needed, rather than becoming human kudzu, we’ll be all set.
