Holy Cow

I just about outdid myself, making supper.  I’ll have to actually get around to writing about it at the other place, and I want to try it again measured until I can say “here’s the recipe.”

What I ended up with was green beens and carrot slivers with toasted sesame seeds and minced garlic in a light, sweet and tangy ginger honey sauce, with chunks of somewhat spicier ginger terriyaki chicken stirred in, served over rice.

Sadie was impressed that Chinese food didn’t require going down the street, or coming home with a bag and handy reusable containers.  When I brought home the green beans and cukes in a paper grocery bag last week, she started dancing around and announcing “Chinese food! Chinese food!” until she was corrected and we had a laugh about the imprinting of an association between paper bags and Chinese food.

I was inspired by several related recipes, but the dish was entirely my own invention otherwise.
