Happy baby.

Last of the growth scans this morning, and the little one is looking big.  36 weeks tomorrow, and he measured at 7 pounds plus.  The doc thinks he looks bigger than he is, though, and I think he’s right about that.  Both girls looked about the same size at this point and both were perfectly average at birth.  I guess we’ll find out in about 4 weeks or so, lol.  I’m expecting him to be the biggest yet, but I wouldn’t guess any closer than to say more than 8 pounds, less than 9, and built big.  We’ll see if I’m right.  smile He just feels *sturdy* to me in a way I can’t really explain.  He was nice enough to pose for the 3D dealie again and he still looks just like his father.  The gal doing the exam was just loving how you could see that the kid’s got those big round baby cheeks.  So. Freaking. Cute.

I will not be shocked if the little darling escapes before his planned eviction.  First, we actually planned ahead and talked my mom into coming out here to help, and we seem to be leading the sorts of lives lately where having a plan constitutes taunting the universe.  Secondly, the kid’s got a very comfortable home there.  Conditions are perfectly normal and wonderful and the fact that he’s scored the best uterine environment of the three almost demands that irony attack.  And third, I’m *crampy* a whole lot more than I ever was with either of the first two.  I’ve had “practice” contractions that are stronger than the ones I had when they tried to induce my labor with Sadie.

And yes, this is an attempt to convince him to wait for the date we planned.  *grin* Hey, it’s a good day.  And I’ve gotten rather fond of my own OB.  I’m carrying around my consent form for the tubal just in case, though.  Also an attempt to convince him to wait.  Reverse psychology and all that.

The girls came with us this morning and were completely awesome.  They’re getting easier and easier to take with us places.  I’m going to miss that ease.

Less than a month to go.  Yay!

  3. Woo!

Given that Jesse was born at this point and weighed a bit over 7 lbs, I’m curious how big your little guy will be if he makes it full term.

I’m so excited for you guys.
