Ground Floor

I haven’t changed the design form the ready-made template.  I haven’t even made a first post and gotten rid of the default first post.  However, if you’d like to keep an eye on it, I have started a new blog here.

I’ll probably work on it a little this weekend, but there’s a lot else to do to, like going to the office and setting up computers and deploying them and installing Dragon 9.0 and stuff.  Sadie might join me today, and we’ll also stop at my grandmother’s house, where they have several free butternut squash from my brother’s garden for us.  Mmmm… butternut.

2. Hey!  I was reading like your 2nd to last AV post where you were talking about House and Standoff (I like it too; they have good chemistry).  You were talking about hunches, and I had a stream of consciousness moment where I had to tell you to read this book:  Blink, by Malcom Gladwell. 

   It’s about intuitions, and how they can work really well, or also mess us up.  For example, trained experts can look at a particular piece of art, and tell within seconds whether it’s a fake or not, but they cannot tell you what clued them in to the forgery.  The scientific tests all indicate the work is genuine, but they know it’s a fake, and later, somebody finds the proof.  So, seriously, READ this book.
