Giving New Meaning to “Conservative” (But Then, Maybe It Could Use New Meaning…)

Via Glenn Reynolds, who scored 21, via Ann Althouse, who scored 21, via Andrew Sullivan, who scored 26, and as “what he said!” critiqued by Eugene Volokh, here’s an extremely silly liberal/conservative spectrum quiz.

The range is 0 to 40, with 40 being the most conservative.

I scored 33 by answering a combination of libertarian-leaning, least bad, and even just as the urge of the moment struck me (as opposed to not completing the quiz because it’s so flawed).

On something like multipart question 2, they might as well have asked “Which do you trust more:”

And paired Apples or Oranges, Grapes or Pineapples, Soil or Dirt, Steak or Beef, and Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton.  It’s about that silly.  Thus I would not recommend a salt-free diet in this instance.

Yet here I am, linking it, because it’s amusing despite - or because of - the flaws.  Go figure.

Rand Simberg scored 31, and note liberal bias in the source code of the quiz.  Interestingly, James Joyner scored 33, just like me.  I’d peg him as more conservative than I am, and less but hardly devoid of libertarian leanings.  Not that the quiz tries to measure that, which is exactly the problem with it.  One of the problems, anyway.
