First Parade Ever
Sadie and Valerie got to see their first live parade ever today, in the form of Mayberry’s Middleboro’s annual Christmas parade. We ended up watching it with Sharon and Julia, near our upstairs neighbors, and saw a niece and two grandnieces in it. It was quite good as such things go.
A big feature is people throwing or handing out candy as they go by. We were on the strip of grass between sidewalk and street, and learned that you want to be onto the street, with nobody in front of you, to optimize the take. The older kids in front obviously had the system down, so they got probably five times the several items each the girls got, even with my best efforts.
They just love candy canes. I wasn’t as big a fan of mint at a young age as they are.
Ok I am stumped...did I miss a niece? Saw my own kids obviously...LOL.

I was looking forward to going because I thought I might run into you guys there. The last time I saw that parade I was in it with the High School marching band… over 23 years ago!! Maybe next year I can get the Pembroke Imperials to show up? I hope the kids liked the parade. Were there many bands?Posted by on 11/26 at 01:11 AM from
