Experiment
Well, I have managed to make my gout return by taking hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, three days in a row, while not eating anything of significance to the cause.
That is as opposed to taking it perhaps a couple times a week, instead of daily as prescribed for blood pressure that has become controlled almost to excess. That is, it’s become normal for me to take the three drugs about 2/3 of the time, effectively cutting the dose. I’ve been registering blood pressures that are ideal at worst and border on needing to reduce dosages at best.
Anyway, apparently I need to continue restricting the hydrochlorothiazide until it can all be addressed.
After a gout attack last spring, I realized that gout is called “the disease of kings” because somebody with gout really, really wants to be carried on a litter.
