Doh!

I am almost as cash broke as I have ever been, to the point of being the most behind on bills probably since we’ve been married.  27k in receivables can do nothing for that until it’s received.

Deb had Yet Another Appointment this morning for the overzealous, superfluous medical monitoring.

I imagined yesterday how awful it would be if one of us broke down.  I imagined this morning, before Deb left with Sadie insisting to go with her, how awful it would be if they broke down.  I should know better than to imagine things, since all too often it’s precognition or bad luck.

I’m walking out the door to meet Deb around the corner at our local repair shop so I can pay the part of the tow AAA won’t cover with most of the rest of our grocery cash.

Yay.

Apparently something happened to the transmission.

This is worse because the truck has been sitting, waiting until I could afford to get it worked on.  Not that it would cost much, but I wanted reserve available in case they found something wrong when inspecting it.
