Daylight Costings Time

How did I miss that daylight savings time had been extended as of 2007?

Perhaps I didn’t, and it simply struck me as unimportant news until I got an e-mail from Microsoft today, pointing me to this article.  What a mess!  Made worse by the fact that the big client is in flux, though it does appear I will need to take action, including manual updates of Windows 2000, so things mesh okay during the time they are still using those machines.

Silly Congress.  What were they thinking?

  1. On Rick Steves Europe on PBS he showed some 2000
year old aqueduct built by the Romans and still working today.  Its amazing how well the world got along without Microsoft.
It seems like I.T. is a time saver but sometimes I
wonder if it does fit into “work expands to fill the amount of time alloted to do it”

  2. It’s not just Windows - we have an older VCR that I will have to manually set 4 times a year; once each for the new dates and then re-set it when it re-sets itself on the dates it thinks DTS is!

At least my Windows 98 machine asks me if it is okay to change - and by just clicking on “no” it won’t. Sure, I will still have to change it on the correct dates, but that is only 2 changes.
