Baking Powder

Is there a good alternate use for baking powder (not baking soda) that has passed its expiration date?

Perhaps for cleaning?  Mixing with household chemical in fascinating ways?  WWMD (What would MacGyver do)?

Update:

And in the “ask first, Google later” department comes:
Baking Powder Uses.

There are probably others, and I am especially curious in the WWMD department, even if cleaning is more useful.

  1. How far past its date? I only ask because mine is going on...a couple months (6ish?) over and everything still rises just fine. So, for all of me, I say just keep using it until it’s really not helping stuff rise. smile

  2. April?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it still worked fine, but we use it seldom enough (or have been; I suspect there will be more baking in our future) that it could be on the shelf another couple years without running out.  Plus I already bought a new one.  Eighty-some cents, I believe it was, which doesn’t make it too onerous.
